Varsity Cheer Takes on Nationals

Northwood High School’s very own varsity cheerleading team went to Dallas, Texas over the Martin Luther King Day weekend. They performed January 22 and 23 where they competed in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Nationals Competition. We are proud to announce that our girls are 8th in the nation for the Small Varsity Novice category.

This  was a great opportunity for the cheerleaders. According to Chloe Williams, “It was a really exciting and memorable trip for me, and I’ve gotten closer and bonded with many of my teammates.” It was not just a competition to the cheerleaders, it was a fun time and a teachable moment.

The cheerleaders did an amazing job, especially with the challenges they faced. Coach Galambos is proud of her girls who “have endured quarantine, illness, school holidays, and having to rearrange a routine with huge changes in three days! ” She feels they “came together as a team” and did their absolute best. Even with these setbacks and long practices, the girls still pulled through with a perfect routine. We are proud of their hard work and accomplishments. Go, Falcons!
